Okay, weeird!! There have been greenish-brown spots all over the bettas tank, and now there's brown spots on the ribbon plants. (read last question) How the HECK do ribbon plants get brown spots on them when everything's perfect? They don't! It has to be algae. Truly the grossest moment of my fish-keeping adventure so far. I reached into the tank pulled a plant, and tried rubbing the spots off, because earlier they looked slightly hairy, browness moving in the filter current. Ewwwwwww!! It came off! There's only one little 8 month betta in that tank, had him for a month. I am truly disgusted. What the heck is up!? (It is a filtered 5 gallon.)

-changing and testing regularly... perfect!
-there's only one halfmoon betta and I make sure he eats everything. I feed once a day.
-the lights are on about 9/10 hrs.
-the only thing I can think of is that I recently moved the tank, but there's not really anymore sunlight.
The temp is 76.

76 is about 25 celcicus. however that's spelled.
Is there a way to get it off the plants, though? All I have are live plants, no deco.
Anubias, water wisteria and ribbon plants.
Would the snails get the plant algea? and lastly, will/could the algae kill the plants??

I'm at the point where I want to just jam those plants into a bowl and buy something hard.
Cave, something like that.
It's disgusting to have to sleep beside that tank.
Do you know where to possibly get those? I know we're on two diffrent continents, but any ideas?
I don't think petco or petsmart sells them, and I know my lfs doesn't...need another lfs.

I found some anti-algae tabs (more serious name xD) in the regular pet shop over here, so I think they should sell them just about anywhere, it's always worth looking Unless you meant the snails... in that case, you can find them in the same type of shop, but it may be good to wait for a new shipment or ask the people at the shop if they're gonna order some in case you can't find any snails Be sure to pick apple snails! Most smaller ones multiply to the degree where they're a plague D:

Did you test the water in the moors' tank? It's only good, in my opinion, to not cut down on feedings but rather increase the amount of water changes. They won't feel bad being well-nourished and in fresh water

Sweet Jesus!! The gravel is COVERED in algae, BROWN algae!

I have brown algae spring up occasionally in my tank, though I vacuum the gravel every week, keep my nitrates at about .5 ppm, and do a 50% water change. The only thing that really helps (unless you buy an algae-eliminating product) is an aquarium glass scrubber or an old toothbrush (CLEAN by fish standards) and good ol' fashioned elbow grease. When you do that weekly it really helps. 

I have a couple of snails and a pleco to deal with the algae... c: But aside from that, I'm scrubbing them pebbles and glasses like a madman D:

he he  , won't come out of it's shell and eventually starves, I can certainly relate....

My Betta lives two Nerite snails and an Amano shrimp. No algae, in fact, I have to feed the snails. Maybe just put one Nerite snail. They are algae eating machines.
