Thank you ladies, I guess you can tell how much this meant to me. Sort of like a kid waiting for Christmas day kind of anticipation. I doubt I'll sleep tonight wondering how he is doing on his first night but he seems to have adjusted 'swimmingly'

The 10 gallon is clean with a bare bottom to accomodate a tankmate in a couple of weeks that will be in quarantine probably until Christmas.

Thank you Andrea It is truly delightful to see him wiggle all over the tank exploring. I read somewhere that Ryukin's to like to explore Set up the 10 gallon and almost have it ready for a tankmate that will be in quarantine there for a few weeks. I am also going to get some plants and makes sure they are safe and 'varmint' free! A slight spike in ammonia and nitrite today (lowest on the charts) but that is to be expected in a new situation I think. Changed 3-4 gallons today. I think I should do a bigger water change though next time. He has a tiny spot of fin rot on his pectoral fin but the tail looks like it has gotten better.

Everything sounds just fine So you're going to quarantine the plants after the new fish then?

If you get Java Fern or Anubias you can even add salt to the water while "quarantining" them, since these plants will easily survive a slight salt solution

Maybe you should wait until the tank has cycled with Tailer?
It would be better for the filter system since each fish adds their part to the biological load.
By the way, it takes time with them plants D: I've been growing mine like crazy the last few months that the tank was set up, and only yesterday did they finally grow enough so that I could split them and spread some more around! To grow more... argh. It's an eternal project! D:

April, I'd keep doing what you've been doing. Also keep an eye on the little fungus patch. You may like to add Melafix / Pimafix for now. Not too much salt at this stage. This is my personal opinion.

Our babies are doing fine, yes I like it "full tank TV".

Did a few waterchanges in the tropical tank, being sooooo carefull not to suck any babies out but you guys wouldn't believe it. Even protecting the end of the hose in the tank two ADULT guppies had their LUNA PARK ride through the hose into the container... that must have been a thrill... they shook their fins, I netted them back into the tank and here they swim around the hose again.... nibbling on my fingers ( I protected better this time ) as if they wanted to say " Mummy, I want another ride "... my heart was jumping into my throat and back doen my guts.
