My new addition

This is my new addition Lemonade. The pictures are not very good as he/she (?) is in my older tank being quarantined for the next couple of weeks. Poor fish is missing some scales on both sides, but with a little love Lemonade should make a full recovery. I thought it had really unique coloring. I found this one at Petsmart for a very good price, fingers crossed Lemonade lives a long and healthy life. Will try to get some better pictures once it is added to the new aquarium. I've also decided that I'm a bad fish owner as my other two fish have never had names so as of today my all orange one is Tangerine and my bigger one (orange and white) is now Sherbert.

Oh, I sure hope not
Lemonades fins were that way this morning (I just purchased today) when I brought it home from the store. I did a water change though to the small tank before adding Lemonade, as my two previous fish have just moved out of this tank and into their new home and I have kept this aquarium running since my two fish have moved out. I hope it's just that color and nothing worse. Thanks for pointing it out though, there is always something new to learn and the more I learn the better prepared I will be.

I agree that it looks an awful lot like ammonia burns. Congrats on the new fish, she looks a bit like my Linden.

Ammonia burns? I would have said that was the fishes colouration, considering how consistent the black tips are on all of the fins?
Orandagal as long as the water quality is good (ammonia 0ppm, nitrite 0ppm and nitrates below 40ppm) if they are ammonia burns, they'll heal and the scales will grow back

Thanks again everyone for the nice compliments and I was hoping this was just it's color (which I'm going with) and nothing else. I did read up on the missing scales (as I hadn't noticed them as much in the store as I did once we got home) but as long as Lemonade is happy and healthy, that's the main thing and Lemonade is certainly happy today swimming all over which is a good thing

So gorgeous! I definitely hope the black coloration stays, however, whenever I've bought a fish with black tips (Except Freya and Atlas), the black color has left within a week
Take good care of that little one <3

Hi Nossie, Thanks so much for the compliment. Lemonade's coloring is still the same and he is doing really well. Still in quarentine, but should be sprung within the next 3 or 4 days. Lemonade is the friendliest out of the 3 and very, very busy! At first I wondered if he would ever come around, but after realizing "oh, that's where the food comes from" he is always the first one looking out waiting for breakfast. I'm enjoying him very much and the other two are happy as clams in their new home. Have a great day!
