Hello everyone I jst wanted to say how ironic there is a Goldfish Show in Simpsonville, SC this weekend. I am so excited about this, I just can't beleive after having my new adopted goldfish for a week.
So those who live in Upstate SC need to come to the Senior Center on W Curtis St in Simpsonville this weekend. It starts Fri 9/31/2011 from 9am- 3pm Sat10/01/2011 from 9am- 6pm Sun 10/02/2011 10am-6pm. I just hope that it is going to be good, I am really not sure what to expect, hope I am not going to be disappointed!! Can anyone possibly tell me what to expect this weekend? Will I have the opprotunity to get a new addition to my new family? Thanks

They have fish shows in many states during spring, summer, and fall. Many fish breeders will be there selling goldfish. You can find some rare breeds and larger goldfish that you would never be able to find in local pet shops, but be prepared to pay a higher price though since some of these are show quality goldfish.

Yes everytime a show come to Orlando our local petshop always buys a pair of oranges and sells them for 25 dollars each.

You of course need to consider the size of your tank as well! Do you have space for another comet/common/shubunkin in there with the catfish already? If you don't, it's better to just look at the fish and enjoy the view...

Okay I was bad today!!
I got 2 Panda Butterfly Fantails, I will say that Iam going to get another tank just for my goldies though. I couldnt resist, I went yesterday & walked away went back today & got them. I almost got me a Ryukin show quality fish for $ 175 he wanted $250 he was gorgious!!!! The two I got have bobble eyes & they r ssoooo cute, When I get more airtime I will post pics. We named them Zeebie & Bubbles. Have looked @ a couple of tanks 2 80gallon & 1 75 gallon tank so that we can give them every oppurtunity to grow to full size & have plenty of room to play.

That sounds so nice
But you can't keep your three goldfish together, the panda butterflies don't see that well, and they are much slower than your comet. The pandas wouldn't get food and may even get harassed :/

Panda butterflies sound so gorgeous!
You could always get a separate tank just for them

Okay this is getting expensive
LOL Went & got Lucky a newer home a 55 gln tank yesterday got it set up this morning!! YYAAAA!!
I am sure she is going to love it we put plants, a new filter which is a Marineland 350, & a nice hiding place too. Trying to let the tank cycle before I put her in it, cause I know that is better. I had to put the catfish out in a 1 gln tank cause he was picking on lil Zeebie today made me so mad. Lucky is doing fine with them & they are getting plenty to eat at feeding, they know to come to the top. I am going to leave the pandas in the 40 til they get a little bigger. So all is well on the home front, so to speak. I haven't been able to upload pics yet, but I haven't forgotten.

Why not move the cat fish to the new tank? It would help with the cycling, and as long as you change the water every second-third day they'd be fine
You wouldn't even have to move the butterflies from the 40, ever. They'd have plenty of space! Even for a third telescope eye, if you'd like
They don't grow as big as some other fancy varieties
