Bit worried about my Pearlscale. Any advice?

I bought my Pearlscale goldfish about 10 months ago. This was my first mistake - it was in a small tank full of young Pearlscales and many of them looked deformed. They has funny shaped backs, odd looking fins, bodies that were too long, eyes different sizes etc. As I did not know much about goldfish at the time, I did not think anything of it. I then kept the Pearlscale in an unsuitable environment for 10 months. It hardly grew at all in this time. In the last few days I have done something about it, and now I have 3 fancy goldfish in a 30 Gallon aquarium with external filter rated for 60 Gallons, live plants in the aquarium etc. My question is whether I have damaged it permanently by keeping it in a crowded tank for 10 months, and whether it is also likely to be too small or deformed because of where I bought it? It is still only 1'' long (excluding tail). It currently has no health problems and I feed my goldfish a varied diet of pellets, peas and live/frozen foods. Any advice would be appreciated. thanks Here is a picture of him: sorry for the poor quality but he won't stay still!

Well I had it with common/comet goldfish in quite a small tank, so it did miss out on food sometimes because of the faster moving fish in the tank, and the other fish were bigger than him so they could have stressed him. But yeah I think I will just keep an eye on things and do the best that I can for him I'm hoping he will grow a bit and not stay really small for the rest of his life.

Ok I shall post some pictures of my 3 goldfish tomorrow I have seen the pictures of your new tank and it looks amazing. You have some lovely goldfish. I don't think my current tank or even my new tank would really be big enough to comfortably keep comets/common goldfish in so I will be sticking with Fancy ones. I'm hoping to get some Ranchus for my new tank
