How lovely it looks! I'm usually more supportive of natural setups as well, but this is just adorable

I think that  when it comes to bettas, it may be more fun to have a more playful setup
With Bruce I happen to have fake silk plants I was going to buy him a smaller sized tank sometime later and go with a different setup But we'll see when that'll happen I think he's quite happy with more space anyway

Probably - I have two ailing bettas on the side (the other two, Ruby and Aria, who are both looking very old, as even with color enhancing food they have turned brown) and they have lots of colors in their plastic tanks. I'm keeping them in plastic gallon containers for now, because this is the only way they'll eat. In the community tank, because they are so slow and old, the other fish get the food before them!

OrandaLover: In that case, it's even better to go nuts with colors! Fish with dull colors do a bit better in a more happy environment, if you ask me

Andrea: I mentioned him in the goldfish re-do thread I brought him home last Saturday
He's a pink betta, with red and turquoise fins, I named him after Bruce Willis xD Since both look pretty bald xD His fins had been nipped since he had been kept with some.. I forgot what kind, fish that found them pretty tasty... He's got some un-pretty lumps in the tail, and they were pretty tattered, but he's healing up nicely Got some salt in the tank with him (He lives in the orb, since I didn't feel like buying a small bowl for him)

Nossie: You'll have to post photos when he is all better as he sounds beautiful, I think everyone bar me and April now own a betta on here. Very cute name  It makes me sad that the pet shop would have had to known he was getting picked on yet did nothing about  Lucky Bruce now has you.

oh my gosh, Nossie, HAHAHAHA!!! I thought Bruce was a goldie! argh, I must have skipped a bunch of posts and then read yours 

Once Clementine has moved out of the 22L and then I'm going to full re-do it Hopefully sooner than I thought it would happen as it looks like the medication I used on Sunshine hasn't totally destroyed the good bacteria, when I tested the water last night it was:
Ammonia:0
Nitrites: 0
Nitrates: 0
Maybe Clementine will get a great Christmas present

Hanna: Thanks! It's okay that you missed the thread.... also, yes I was planning on betta breeding, and my parents were THIS CLOSE TO BEING CONVINCED but then it backfired  oh well, maybe when i'm older

I wouldn't move Clementine, until ammonia and nitrite are zero and you see nitrates showing up and established at around 10ppm.  It could be a week or so before you might see nitrites show up, if at all.  Just test every couple of days, once the nitrates are establish again, everything should be fine...You are doing a great job.  Your biological system is sensitive right now and adding Clementine might put too much strain on that delicate system.

LOL, I'm sure Clementine wouldn't mind getting it for new years and not x-mas!!!
