Just checked everything and water is indeed perfect. The only thing I did a few days ago was a 20% water change. I also removed the activated carbon pouch that was in the external filter since adding the Pimafix. His head looks no worse at this time. pH is 7.0 since the water change so maybe that fluctuation of .2 points caused him to produce more slime coat? It is a mystery. So grateful for your advice  

Hi Andrea, since his move into the new tank, his tail has greatly improved. No visible holes but has not totally repaired. A week ago a very tiny white cottony puff appeared on his pectoral fin but went away. I've been on top of the water like a crazy person (testing everyday that is) and so careful not to tamper around. Aside from that pH drop of approx. 0.3 points this is all that has been going on. pH is normal now too so I can't for the life of me figure out what the problem is. I don't everfeed him, he gets a good diet so I don't get it *sigh to be safe over the holidays, I will pick up something stronger in meds and look for the Jungle brand formulas. Should also get some medicated food. Thanks for your comment

as I mentioned in a PM to April, we had an akward storm here where the backside fell out of the sky and it destroyed our router, so we were without internet for 2 days.
Have to catch up a lot I see...

Andrea so glad to hear Sunshine is on the mend Hanna! I was worried when you were not on for a few days  sorry to hear about that wicked weather you had. My Aussie buddy informed me last night online and sent me some links to video of the hail  The sound of those frozen golf ball sized hail on the roof must have been frightening! Hope all the wildlife took cover too. Now, this little baby of mine my beloved Jillybean/fish is such a character! Her eyes are so gentle and glowing  and she's like quicksilver zooming around now as she feels more comfortable in her new home. Just checked Tailer and the patch on his head is no worse and his tail looks better too. Gonna go whip up some grub for the gang have a great day ♥

I thought about the time of day it was there and wondered if your car would be damaged by the hail too so no, not off topic at all I am just glad all is well with the whole fam damily  There are many photos I guess tourists and local residents took and posted on the weather channel. Did you lose power too? It almost looked like cyclones could have been forming. My throat would close if I ever saw one - can't even watch them on tv (the sky taking form like that would break me) way too vivid an imagination. I am so happy you are all ok...including the car lol

Hmm that does look a bit unusual but I reckon that is her sleeping. That's what it sort of looks like to me and she is just proping herself up on the plant. She is gorgeous and now I see how tiny she is

The water is perfect across the board. The tank is in the kitchen on the side counter across from 2 of my birds. I am careful to come in from either side carefully so as not to startle her. She is getting better slowly as she adjusts, coming to the front of her tank to say 'hi' with that adorable little mouth and tail wiggle
