Is there some sort of pill to stop tank syndrome? I feel I might be catching it..

No, there isn't a pill; but a stern letter from my Bank Manager works for me

Hey just an update. Well they are just over 2 weeks old now and are getting bigger, most of them have their colouring and looks like they are all going to be tuxedos like their mum. Hopefully a friend of mine is going to have 2/3 of them. I have explained about tank sizes and how to look after them.

Ah sounds awesome
Just make sure you don't give your friend a male and female! Unless she wants babies of course

Yeah I'm gonna ask him if he wants makes or females. If he isn't bothered I will give him which ever I have the most of.

Here we go some more pics of them. The last one is of my little Black Beauty. Some of the pics aren't very good as they are fast little things.

Do you find that those plants grow like heck? I'm forever trimming mine...I've now got a tank just full of plant cuttings!
I know what you mean about the fishy photos...my fish will play statues right up til the second I press the shutter release

My elodea grows like crazy too, I trim it back and either re-plant it, or throw it away in the organic bin

Awe that's a shame, you have to throw it away. I would love some for my goldfish, we can't get it here. They love it and munch it like potato chips!

When I ever I take any off I put it in with my snails to much on. I just let it float on top and the demolish it. I do the same after I have given my fish veg, any they haven't eaten goes in with my snails to finish of.

I put some elodea in the snails tank and they just like hanging out in it. I often find them climbing about amongst the elodea.
They don't seem to have eaten any of it though. They are rather odd snails, so far in trying them with different foods surprisingly they don't like algae wafers or seaweed (in the form of sushi nori), so I guess my guys just like fish flakes and vegetables?!
Lucky nibbles on the elodea occasionally, but to be honest there is so much of the stuff, if she does eat it, it doesn't really make a dent XD
Minde have you tried looking online for Elodea?

Well one of my babies just had an exciting night. I was do a water change and I accidentally sucked Black Beauty into the bucket. I didn't realise until I had emptied the bucket into the sink.
luckily I managed to catch her and put the plug in to stop her going down the drain and got her back into the tank. Poor girl. She seems fine now though, but out of 21 fry the one I managed to suck up was the only one I know for definite I want to keep. I nearly had a heart attack. It terrified me when I saw I had sucked one up but when I saw it was her I thought I was gonna cry.

Well I had a shock today! I had moved 5 of the larger fry into my 60litre to give them and they smaller fry some more room. Altogether I moved 5 fry into the tank, but when I did a water change in there today there was 7 of them. The two extra ones were tiny in comparison to all my others. All I can think is that after I had put Logan in there when I thought she had stopped giving birth she must of had two more. The poor things were smaller because they didn't get any fry of the fry food. I didn't even know they were there.

Platy fry can be so small!
I got some more of them too by the way!

None of the others are that small. I mean all the others in the other tank aren't as big as the ones I moved but they aren't that small and I checked how many I moved as I was moving them, I definatly only moved 5. How long can they be in labour for?

I don't know how long it takes for a fish to give birth to hundreds of fry
But if they're small, I think they've been born recently. No way newly born fry would survive without food.

Well I was putting flakes in and there is algea in the tank and it looks like they have been munching on that. Just nothing with the real nutrients they need. I don't know how she could have had them recently she hasn't been near a male fish since she had the others and there are only two of them. I just don't know where they have come from if that isn't what happened, I bought another platy to go with her and I made sure it was female, she never went back in with Victor and I made sure I know how many fry I added to that tank when I moved them so I knew how many were in each tank, plus the fact that all the other fry are significantly larger and I didn't put any liquifry in the 60L. I keep getting things randomly appearing in my tanks. I also have this like half a clam thing. From the top it looks just like a clam shell except whit but the bottom is open and it moves around like a snail! God knows where that has come from. My unknown snails that no one can ID appeared from nowhere and now 2 fry that have randomly appeared where they shouldn't be. This is just too bizarre.
The rest of the fry are doing really well though will post more pics of them soon.

A clam snail? Where on earth do you shop? Sounds like you've won the snail lottery bonus there
In all seriousness though, half a clam shell? Sounds more like a limpet?
The only snail I can find described as having a clam type shell, is a stomatella snail, but those are -I believe- marine, so it couldn't be one of them?
As for the fry... I have no idea, maybe they came out of the other female?

It could be a limpet. Half a clam shell was all I could describe it as, clams have the two close together well it's that shape but only the one. Looked limpets up online and that's what they kinda look like but they are very small at the moment. I thought they were just bubbles on the glass until I saw them moving.
Fantailer I shop at pets at home and haven't bought anything new for the tank in ages. No new plants or ornaments so god knows where they have come from.

my baby apple snails look just like that: bubbles on the glass,limpet-like shape, they are tiny and everywhere and appear to have the magical ability to hop between tanks
