Goldfish and gravel...help!
« on: February 16, 2010, 05:46:37 PM »

I have tiny gravel in my tank. My goldfish likes to pick it up and suck on it. Im afraid he's gonna swallow it and die. What do i need to do?   Shocked

If it's about pea-sized, they'll be fine.  My fishies love to suck at the gravel, too. Smiley

remove thr gravels.. the parasite or bacteria can use your gravel as there shelter.. gravel or pebbles are not better in your gf..

Goldfish are naturally looking for edible items in the bottom substrate, so this is completely normal (: Nothing to worry about.

And do not remove the bottom substrate NOR pebbles! This would disturb their natural behavior.
