I got a gold fish from the fair about two weeks ago. It hasn't eaten food in about a week and is becoming thin. I feed it goldfish flakes but it spits it back out. I have no idea what is wrong with this fish.

Could you give us some info? What size tank does it live in? Temperature? Go to this link and post ALL the information needed, please!

I agree with OrandaLover.
Get a water test kit and test the water, or have the pet shop test it for you. Make sure the tank is at least 10-20 gallons. Your tank is probably not cycled yet and is having ammonia spikes. Buy some Prime while you're at the pet store, if the ammonia is high. Make sure you always use a water conditioner when changing the water.
