Friend's goldfish acting weird

Hi. A friend of mine has a problem. She noticed that her goldfish are acting weird since they laid eggs. she states that her fishtank has tons of eggs everywhere and the biggest fish keeps attacking the other one. Also they appear to be on the bottom "gasping" (you know that thing fish do :p).
My dad used to have fish, but they never laid eggs as far as he knows and I don't know a thing about fish, but I wanted to help my friend. She's working right now so I figured I'd go ask the nice people on a forum and here I am.
Is what's happening normal? What is causing this weird behaviour and how can it be helped. I posted it in the general section since I don't know wether it's a dissease or not.

So... they laid eggs, they're chasing eachother, and nibbling the gravel? Because sitting on the bottom GASPING is something else.
Since I'm not sure which kind of behavior you mean, I'd like to have some numeric results of the water tests. Check the pH, ammonia, nitrite and nitrate.
