My betta gets water changed everyday. Even though he is in a 3 gallon vase.

Yeah, I agree with OrandaLover. 3 gallons is pretty perfect size for a betta, and from what I noticed, they're very clean fish
Maybe you could start changing once a week, really?

I was changing the water for Bruce not long ago, he'd been in the bowl for a week, and then I wanted to siphon the gravel, but... there was nothing there! :O I'm used to having huge loads of goldfish "dirt" coming out of there but... not this time xD

Lol! I really didn't think that bettas would be too interesting when it comes to personality. But I feel pretty attached to Bruce already! He was pretty picky about what he ate, and he still refuses to eat anything that doesn't fit perfectly in his mouth xD

I'm starting to worry that every single fish in the world would be fun to know!

Bruce was so sweet when I fed him blood worms last time! I put in a small lump of them, he ate it and put his nose towards the surface for more food One little piece after another Like a little... fish xD

Hi All

Im new here. I had Mr. Blue (Betta) for almost 4 yrs. in a 1 gallon bowl. I then read, not on this site that he should be in a bigger tank. So I bought a 2.5 gallon with a filter. Before I transferred him over to the bigger tank he did not eat and he was always in the bottom.  I was told that he was constipated and old. He died on Mothers Day.  I am interested in buying another Betta.  What are your thoughts.

i say a 5 gallon with a filter. 2.5 MINIMUM. I had a male betta in a unfiltered 1 gallon, water changes once a month. Lived five years, but that was ABUSE! haha i was only five.
Now i have a happy halfmoon in a filtered five gallon. save up and buy on sale. and bettas do need cycled water. bowls don't go through cycles. On another note, if you MUST buy a betta with the tank, get cycle, they sell it at petco. really works, if you didn't know about it.

My Betta lives in a 2 gallon Fluval Spec. He has a few buddies. A dwarf frog, an Amano shrimp and two Nerite snails.

I will post a picture when this forum decides I am worthy.

No name. Haven't thought about anything fitting. I usually don't name my fish. I just have too many. That tank alone has the Betta, a shrimp, a frog and two snails.
My 150 at home has about two dozen in it and my 6 gallon has 9 fish, 5 shrimp and 4 snails. Then I have a single frog in his own little tank. I think I may find him a new home.

Do you keep only goldfish or do you have a lot of others too??
It sounds so awesome! (I need more tanks too as soon as I can get a bigger place to stay...)
