Black fuzzy spots on tank decoration?

My fish tank is almost finished cycling and on just one decoration (It looks like a giant log but I'm pretty sure it's plastic) there are these fuzzy blackish spots   Huh  (fishless cycle)  Before when I had a green algae problem in my tank it was the only really tank decoration that got algae on it.  Does anyone know what it is and if it's bad how I should get rid of it?  Huh  Thanks in advance for any answers.

Algae come in all sorts of different colours. So it could be algae, but hard to tell without a pic.

Did you add "algae control" in your water too. Some conditioners control algae growth as well. How much light does your tank get?

Yes I did add algae control, but then I didn't add it again so when I saw this I did - It gets 8-12 hours of light a day

LOL, doesn't matter... haha... maybe you reduce the time to 8 hours only. Does the tank sit close to the window? what about direct sun light and how is the temp?

The light is perfect! Too much light usually gives rise to green algae (or brown, if there's a load of nitrates in the water). So all I'd do would be buying some plants or at most cleaning the "black fuzzy spots" off manually d:

Could the spots be dangerous to new fish?  Should I try to clean them off?
