Don't even think about it. They can grow to be 1 meter long.

Nossie means, not to think about it buying it.

You now have 2 fish to care for and look after, both in very small bowls which means lots of waterchanges.

Before getting a "Ghost" ( and any other more fish ) you MUST be an experienced and responsible aquarist.

Fish are living creatures that deserve the care of a devoted aquarist, not being slowly tortured to death in the hands of an unknowledgeable aquarist.

I have two black ghost, about 2inch length.  Grin
You can't enjoy this fish like gf, because this fish is very shy and spent all day, hiding.   Angry

Not to mention the fact that it will need something BIG to live in. I'd bet it needs at least a 120 gallon, and some awesome filtration system. In other words, you've got to be experienced and devoted to even start imagining how it would be keeping one.

I have 2 blackghost and other fishes, but i dont intend to keep them until they bigger or reach max size.
If i think the tank not bigger enough for them, its time to say goodbye. I will sell them to LFS.
and of course, the price alot higher then the the first time i bought them  Grin

And it's time to learn to take care other fish, like DIscuss. Discuss is my dream fish, but still, i need more experiance if i would keeping one.

andiy: Are discus that tricky to keep? Isn't much like, keep their water ideal (soft and acidic) change water a lot, have a good filter system for absolutely pristine water quality and feed them a lot of nutritious cichlid foods and live foods? Grin

I was told they are pretty sensitive fish and they need LOTS, LOTS  of room too. They get stressed very easy and get sick very easy too

@Nossie: Hanna was right, discuss are harder to keep, very sensitive and in my place discuss are expensive fish. I need to consider first before buy it.

Yes, right, didn't think about the $$$.
Pretty and expensive.
Got a guy here, he breeds them and he sell's them for about $ 150-200 each, size: about 7 cm in diameter. Beautiful colours too.

Our Petsmart here in Michigan do not sell Discus.  In fact I wouldn't know where to get one if I wanted one...not that I do.. Grin
