Hi guys, now Carlos has two lumps on his back fin  Please help me with what this could be? and what I can do to make it better! This time I really am concerned!
I have taken some pictures for size etc...but he never stops moving so this proved difficult so the pics aren't the best sorry!
Apart from these problems he doesn't act any different... The lumps are white, well one has red in it like veiny...could these be absesses or tumours?! They're getting bigger, they have just shown themselves today and getting bigger...

The white bumps seem too large to be white spots or ich. Ich is very tiny like a grain of salt.

Since you've been cycling the tank with Carlos for quite  a while, it could be stress related. Cycling a tank with a live fish can weaken the fish's immune system and allow bacterial infection to take hold. You mentioned Carlos also has a bit of finrot and now these lumps with some redness, which seem to indicate he has a problem fighting off some infection. Although it could be tumors like you mentioned, i would try to treat him for bacterial infection since there are definite signs of that.

I'm not sure how easy it for you to get antibacterial fish food or medication in the Uk, but if you aren't able to get them, see if you can order them from the USA and have them shipped to you.  I recommend you try the medicated fish food first, since you are trying to cycle a tank and the medicated food should not interfere with the cycling process. I suggest getting one with similar ingredients  to medigold .If you can afford it, get two different medicated fish food in  case one if ineffective, so you can try the other one to see if it works better.


Also  if you have leftover human antibiotics, you can use them to make your own medicated fish food.

He does have the red streaks in the fins still, so I agree with nabi See if you can get some medicated fish food, and keep us posted!
