Is this a Fantail?

I have looked at a lot of pictures here of Fantails and Ollie here seems to not look like any. Could someone please let me know.

A fantail ribbon tail, the forks and lobes in the tail keep him from being a veil tail. Veiltails have square edged trailing fins. Most fantails sold in the pet trade have ribbon tails to some degree, Ollie's is particularly impressive. True fantails have short stiff caudal fins.

I have never heard of a fringe tail. I will try to get a better picture posted of Ollie. Thank you all for the replies.

No problem Smiley It'd be nice to see, he's so beautiful Smiley

I have a few ribbontails in my tank, they tend to have very thin and long lobes on their tails actually, and Ollie's tail looks much more like our old-man fringetail looked so... Smiley They have much more flowing fins than fantails and less of a pronounced split between the lobes.

Here is another picture of Ollie. I assume they just grouped him in the wrong tank when I purchased him, regardless I love him.

The tail is more visible now, pretty sure it's not a ribbontail at least... Smiley
