This is kind of  a st*pid question that i should know by now but im going to ask it anyways. You dont have to use water conditioner for bottled water right? I think you just have to for tap water? Right?

If you don't use water conditioner you have to the water sit out for 24 hours per gallon.

You don't have to use it for bottled water, but you're never sure what's in the bottled water, so I'd be using it anyway. Besides, conditioners are really good for the fishes' health Smiley

I heard a horror story once about water from the refillable jug things you see in the grocery store.
(That's regular drinking water.)
There was some sort of contaminant in the water, and it KILLED this woman's fish.
They learned this the day after all her fish died.
She didn't use conditioner, too.
Long story short- it'll probably be okay, but i'd rather be safe than sorry! Wink

I wouldn't use bottled watter because they add a lot of chemicals to it (for "flavor enhancement").  I agree- stick with water conditioner.

Note that many water companies use chloramine as the disinfectant.Chloramine can not be removed by letting it sit, or by chemicals that remove only chlorine.

Where I live both chlorine and chloramine have been used and I have no idea what they are using now.

They can change from chlorine to chloramine without notice, and back again, depending on time of year, etc.  It's best to treat for both just in case.
