Bottom Sitter

 I have a goldfish, he is healthy, but I have recently upgraded his tank (30 gallon). Before I moved him to the bigger tank, he was full of energy, would even follow my finger.
However the newer tank is inside a stand and three sides are enclosed, with only the front open. Since he has moved into the new tank (about two weeks ago) he is acting lethargic, he still eats fine and gets excited if I get near the tank or if there are lots of people/noise in the room, he seems happier. But when things are quiet he floats in the middle of the tank hardly swimming and recently he has taken to bottom sitting. All the water paremeters are fine, I transfered water when I switched the tank. I also have a betta in the new tank and he seems happy/healthier then ever. So can stress cause bottom sitting and should I move him to a tank with open sides. Do goldfish dislike enclosed tanks?  Also what else could be causing this?? Thanks!!

Whoops I forgot to add, I have an aquaclear 100 filter on the tank, plenty of airation (which he use to swim through) I add aquarium salt, easybalance with nitraban and aquasafe with water changes which I do about every two weeks (20 percent) I just did a water change to see if it would help but it didn't. I have live plants, and the only other fish in the tank is a betta. They get along really good, and have been together for over a year.

Hi,
How are your Nitrogens? Ammonia, Nitrite, Nitrate ? pH?

Also you shouldn't add salt on a regular basis. Goldfish are Freshwater fish NOT Saltwater fish.
Salt is only used sometimes in case of illnesses.

It could have happened that your water is too salty for your fish, make a 50-70 % waterchage anyway and add your conditioner and beneficial bacteria  but NO SALT.

You'll need to change the schedule, even if the tank is big and sort of empty with just a goldie and betta in it, you should change at least half of the water every week!
And please tell us, what exactly do you mean by the water parameters being "fine"? Numerical results please!!
From the sound of it, your tank is cycling, so there's no way the water would be "fine".

Other than that, do avoid the salt, this just slows down the beneficial bacteria, and with your water changes being done so seldom, it's really a problem for your goldfish.
