BRISTLENOSES, update no 5

Ok, guys, I need to rename 2 of our bristlenoses.
Kate is Kate, but Jane and Jill are Jack and John..... they grow bristles.... and whats MOST IMPORTANT:
Kate had a baby
or had some eggs somewhen.... seen 1 baby just 5 min ago
I had my Slippery Fish today and I rubbed my eyes but I'm not dreaming.... while I was sitting in front of the tank watching the fishies and talking to my mum and dad on the phone, I shook my head to get cobwebs off and things I seen they may not be there.
But it was there and it stil IS there: A Bristlenose about 1,5 cm long already cleaning the ship wreck !
And I even didn't see Kate being pregnant
Got some pics, only need to download them, will post them asap....
Ladies, you want babies, just get your fish over into this fertile tank, LOL

Wow that is really cool Hanna.
Bristlenoses aren't live bearers so they muct have laid eggs and one must have survived!!

I think it would be so cool if there was a place on here where we could swap, trade, buy and sell!

Oh that would be awesome!!!! I mean, it would make things easier, if one person has seen a fish that another wants.. XD or even a tank.

Oh my goodness, you lucky girl! What kind of water do you have in Sippy Downs Hanna lol careful you don't drink it or we will be planning a baby shower
I nearly fell off my chair when reading about you sipping your wine and seeing a tiny 'extra' cleaner sucking on the shipwreck ahahahahaha *gasp....hahahahahaha made my day

Yep, those bristlenoses are tricky! They breed without warning and you won't ever know it unless you actually see the babies in action
Congrats!
We noticed those tiny babies at some point when we were going to perform maintenance on the tank back home, some of them were sucking on their dad
It was kind of sweet, but he chased them away all the time, which always ended with them sneaking closer and closer, real slowly
Unfortunately, I'm afraid the goldfish ate them or something, because they all got lost :'D

hahaha, smile, sparkle, Ladies, I looked this morning, Little Baby Bristle IS there......
The ship wreck has got plenty of holes and caves to hide in, sure Kate had more eggs than only one, hope a few more survived, even if I noticed only one baby at this stage. Well, my tank maintenance must be very, very careful.
Abbie, yes they are in the tank with our guppies, platies all their babies and 2 corydoras.
April, maybe I should sipp more water here in Sippy Downs, lol
And yes, wouldn't it be so lovely if we would live closer together so we could swap, trade, etc in between us...
( photos and videos are downloding of the camera card....)

I think our Bristlenoses laid eggs in the driftwood
Bristlenoses use to eat and carve little holes and caves in the wood for spawning
Maybe only one is alive for now? You never know what might have happened to the babies/eggs. Hope you'll spot more though!
Rite, you do have driftwood in that tank?

Nossie, yes I do.
I'll get a "bristlenose log" too so when Kate will lay eggs again one of her 'husbands" (LOL) can sit on them and raise them. They'll let the babies out when they are about 1cm or a little bigger, when they cannot be eaten anymore.

Many Thankies Ladies, just come home from work, feeding our darlings and I am not sure if I've seen baby No 3...
must check out, maybe the eggs hatch at different days, so there might coming more, just need to be patient and see...
Tomorrow is big day in tank maintenance too

Thats great news! How many eggs do bristlenoses usually lay?
Its so hard maintaining the tank with babies/eggs in it
Especially the water changes.

Congrats!
I think bristlenoses would lay around... 50-200 eggs maybe??? A bit less than "average" fish but...

Seen this photo while googeling for bristlenose eggs, etc.
I don't think they really lay that many eggs... I'd go nuts raising that many BN's LOL

For sure I know there are two, as I seen two at once... NAAAAAAAAAAAA didn't have Slippery Fish
...
But I think there is a third one kicking around too as I may have noticed one is lighter than the other little one.
And Little Baby Bristle ( No 1 ) is doubble the size than those other wees.

I'm wondering if the little ones are from a different spawn than the bigger one?
