I'm wondering if the little ones are from a different spawn than the bigger one?
Could be, I seen that video where the female lays eggs but not all at once, with some breaks in between and the male keeps her in the log and spills his sperms in intervalls too

My sister's bn:s have gotten some babies too lately
She showed me one of them on the glass yesterday
Sadly though, we haven't managed to bring them up, since the two goldfish kind of... eat them. *cough*
You need to remember, about them eggs, that not all of them will even hatch
So it won't really be 200 babies, unless you deliberately have them spawn in a separate spawning tank and care extra carefully for the eggs and fry

Counted 6-7 little ones today so with BABY BRISTLE the first I've seen there are 7-8 BN babies.
And they are quite smaller than BABY BRISTLE, max half size if not a bit smaller.
Hope the big platies wont eat them because they'd easy fit in their mouthes.
I try to feed them well but not overfeed...

Thank you Ladies so much... and I didn't have a Schnaps, Brandy or Slippery Fish, only brekkie coffee. All of a sudden they just came out wherever they were.... so off to the store, bought 3 plates with 40 cubes frozen baby brine shrimp.... and because we both ( hubby and me ) suffer with Fighteritits.... but this in another post...
April they all have got that greyish brown colour with white spots but a few are a bit lighter, others a bit darker.
Minde, it IS crazy.... so many BN's!!! You know what? We should celebrate a CYBER FISHIE BABY SHOWER, lol

What the heck is fighteritis?
do the BN's eat brine shrimp?
I would think they could suck on an algae wafer.

Amazing Hanna!! I really wish I lived near you as I would love to have one of your babies. How do bristlenose breed/give birth? Eggs or live birth? What are you really going to do with them all?

Andrea, I wish you'd be my neighbour, would LOVE to give you some...
We'll need to trade them in like we do with our Platy and Guppy babies when they are good size grown.
BN's lay eggs, the father spills his sperm and guards them until they hatch and are big enough to let them out.
Yes, they suck on algae already.
I also put baby brine shrimp in for all our little ones.
a few more pics attached

would be so much fun to wake up Christmas morning with a baby BN in Tailer's stocking and having already mapped out where he's gonna 'hoover' the tank
Have you counted anymore since the BN baby boom!

LOL, I haven't done anything, IT'S THEM, hahahahaha
well, I was told once they start they breed like bunneeees
After I seen the first baby I bought them a breeding log, because the platys like to have a secret matinee or
tete-a-tete in the ship wreck
the other day when I fed gammarus Angelique and Dot shot out of one of them "bedrooms" lol

For sure they haven't fantailer, the first babies are stil far to small. They need another year to mature and only when the males start to grow bristles like a mustache then you may expect babies.
