No kidding! Unfortunately, Austrailia isnt one of my "MUST TRAVEL" places. As nice as it sounds, I dont want to deal with snakes and poisonous snakes, and dinner plate spiders :S

Omg I can't imagine.  If I saw a spider that big outside I'd be running away!
I still can't believe a spider that big bit you Hanna and you lived to tell about it! Shocked

Back to our fishies, LOL  Grin

I gave Humpsi and Hepsi peas: 2 for each. And Hepsi gobbled almost all at once, now I can see her dealing with a huge mouthfull, can see the green shimmer through her nostrils and the thinn skin when they turn out their lips like a vacuum cleaner hose, LOL  Wink

Do you guyz thaw the frozen brineshrimp before you chuck it in the tank? or you put it in like it is ant it thaws in there?

I love watching my fish eat peas! It's so cute how they're chewing! xD

But yeah, I think it's better if you thaw the frozen foods completely before putting it into the tank (:

You don't hve to thaw the food first...it thaws by itself in a matter of seconds after being chucked into the tank! Cheesy

I think its funny when Tiger eats tubifex worms. He tried to eat the entire half a cube by himself!!! But he couldnt finish it so Sonorus took a mouthfull and a half and dragged it around. so funny watching my fish swim with food hanging out of their mouth XD

I thought because they left the frozen cube on the gravel for over 1 hour, that it may be too cold for their tiny lips.
And then I looked later nothing was there...
Next visit to the pet store, I'll get frozen bloodworms  Tongue

Wow!  That is strange, that your cube sinks.  My frozen food cube floats. And the fish have fun chasing it around and tearing pieces off of it. Smiley

My tubifex worms sink when they get too waterlogged, and then I have to go in and shake it around so Tiger notices. Sonorus is too too lazy XD

My fish must eat their food cubes too fast for it to sink!  Nothing sinks in my tanks.  Even the sinking pellets don't have a chance! Grin

I think my fish are a little slow on the draw. theyre all " oh look, its snowing orange. oh HEY thats food!" -swim swim swim- and then they eat it so slow... like theyll take a bite, then swim away, then come back, eat, then swim around. Im like 'hey! EAT THE FOOD!" lol

We have fun feeding them, then trying to point out the food they missed as it sinks down.  What is really funny is when they actually listen!
I was feeding them yesterday, and I was waiting for Spot to come and eat his.  I dropped a pinch in right on his head by accident, and he ended up with a "food hat"!

I gave Hump and Hep some Watermelon the other day. Couldn't cut the pieces very small, so they were a bit bigger in size.
our fishies looked like sucking on dummies, lol Cheesy

That "food hat" thing happens a lot to mom's fantail. He always comes to the surface so his head is up, and occasionally a few pellets land on his forehead. Once he was up for so long, gulping food that the "hat" stuck to him for almost an hour or so xD

Ours they ignored the bloodworms first. Maybe because they look like tiny fish poo when they thaw and float arround.
But anyway I cannot see one left now.

I am curious about the veggie blocks how they will respond to those.
Basically I've got now food for every day sth else: 3 types of flakes, crisps, 2 types of pellets, bloodworms, brineshrimp and veggie blocks. And then the extra goodies: peas, watermelon, orange, strawberries  Grin

Woww, happiest fish in the world! Cheesy I've yet to buy some frozen live foods for mine (: And I think I won't do so until sometime in the fall when we'll have our own apartment... I doubt mom would enjoy having frozen worms in her freezer Wink

Hmmm, watermelon?  We'll have to try it.  I'd feel bad about giving them live food- I'm vegetarian, and even though I know their food has fish meal in it, and they need it to be healthy, but I like to pretend that they are veggie, too. Wink

Frozen bloodworms look like a panel of chocolate, same square size to break off, lol. And the frozen veggie cubes look ok too.

But I can imagine it would be different to feed pet snakes or lizards.... seen those frozen mice and rats with their fur on and baby-mice packed in the freezer at the petshop.... igittigittigggiiiittt... wouldn't keep them with my food... Tongue
