Well hello there.  My husband and I have had goldfish and shubunkins for around 25 years now, and this very morning when going to feed them,we can only see one in the pond.  Huh    There were around 15 plus little babies.  None of the plants or shubbery near the pond has been disturbed and we are surrounded by trees, what do you think happened?? Could a Heron have flown down do you think??  This is so sad! AND AFTER ALL THESE YEARS. Any info would be a great help please.

I would guess a heron or owl might have gotten your fish....or turtle or even a snake!
We have had all kinds of creatures visit our fish pond occasionally through the years.  One morning I went out and saw baby snapping turtles just hatched and swimming in the pond and some crawling towards it!  We loaded them all up and took them to the nearest swamp.
You can put protective netting over the pond and secure it with stakes or rocks.
Also an owl, lifelike statue can deter other animals from visiting your pond since owls are so territorial.
You can find lifelike owl statues at farm supply stores.  People also use them in their gardens.
