Is it ok to mix guppies with goldfish?

I have some fantail goldfish in a 30 gallon tank at the moment.  I was thinking of getting some guppies also.  Can i mix them with my goldfish?

How big do guppies get?

No you can not mix guppies with goldfish. Guppies require warmer waters than gold fish. Tropical Fish like guppies should never be put with cold water fish.
Did you know those fantail goldfish will get at least 6-8 inches. Goldfish creates lots of waste and require lots of room. One fantail goldfish should have 20 gallons of water and an additional 10 gallons to each goldfish you add.
So in your tank size you should have about 2 goldfish.

It's not a good idea to mix tropical and cooler water fishes. Guppies only grow to 1.5" to 2" max, but goldfish can grow a lot larger than that. Goldfish will also eat anything that fits in their mouth, including guppies.

No the gold fish will eat the guppies        I just got 5 new guppies for my birthday
