I have recently lost all my goldfish to a very bad dose of white spot and fin rot. All but my two danio have died and I have re housed them in a temporary tank.
Can anyone tell me what to use to thoroughly clean my big tank and do I need to replace my ornaments and plants etc or can they be cleaned and used again.? I do not want to risk infecting any new fish with these diseases so need to make sure that the tank is bug free and what is the best thing to use to clean the tank.

Some people use bleach, for the gravel, pebbles and ornaments.  You can't do anything about the plants though, but if there are parasites present in the tank, just add some salt and raise the temperature. The ich parasite will die without a host (fish) so if you wait a while, letting the tank cycle again before you add any new fish to it, it should be safe! Smiley
