Petsmart stands and glass/plastic coverings

Is there a better top to use for your aquarium between glass or plastic?
I'm looking at two stores and one carries glass only and the other has the plastic top.
Also, has anyone used a stand from Petsmart? Are they durable?
The one I'm looking at is Top Fin brand.
Edit: There's also two stores I'm looking at one has a pre-assembled particle board stand and another one made out of pine. Obviously the pine is more expensive, but my concern about the particle board is only the stability. Has anyone used one out of particleboard before? Do they hold up?

Glass is often the superior choice than plastic if you can pick. Light can also transmit better through glass also.
Concerning the question about the stands, either ones made from from real wood or particle boards will work fine. The quality and durability of the stands made from real wood is often better, so pick that if your budget permits.
I've have stands made from particle boards from Petsmart for several years , and they've held just fine.
If you're still concerned about the stability issue, just google the name of that particle stand and see if other people have problem with it.

Thanks Nabi!
Luckily my bf said he will spring for the real wood
But good to know the others have held up!
I think I will go with the glass top then
Also, same price, so in that case it's not an issue!

I have this 75 gallon stand from Petsmart and it's very nice. Sturdy and easy to assemble.

Glass is definitely a better top! Plastic can start turning yellow over the years.
I don't have any comments about the stands, sorry :'D

I vote glass as well! However, you must be careful with them, for they can chip or crack if roughly handled.
