A few pics of the kids

Here are few pics of some of my goldfish. These guys were all about 1 - 2 inches long two and a half months ago (except Carmen Oranda. That one was a bit bigger than the others but they've caught up). The most noticeable change has been in my Lion Head, King Richard. Look at how little he was in the group shot from 7/26/10 compared to now!
Pictured are;
First pic, the Red Cap Oranda is Carmen Oranda (taken 7/26/10)
Second pic, in the group of three are Moranda Richardson aka Queeny (for you Black Adder fans) the Red Cap, the Ryukin is Sashimi and the little lion head is King Richard. The Ryukin to the left is Sushi. (taken 7/26/10)
Third pic is Sushi (taken 10/12/10)
Fourth and fifth pics are King Richard (taken 10/12/10)

Lionheads don't have any dorsal fin, so King Richard is actually an oranda with awesome headgrowth
He looks wonderful
You have gorgeous fish! They're so beautiful all together

Oh yeah, so that's why they were being sold as red orandas then? Oops lol Darn, I'll have to come up with a different name since he's not King Richard the Lionheaded any more
Thanks, I think they are quite a nice looking bunch myself. Can't wait to get them into the bigger tank though.

Sometimes everything with headgrowth is called a lionhead, so feel free to call him like that even if he's an oranda

Thank you, all that head growth showed up over the last 2 1/2 months too. I think orandas are so cute with their pudgy little faces. They have all more than doubled in size in that time too. I so can't wait to get the new 65 gal tank for them for Christmas. Then they will really be able to stretch their fins and grow.

My Claymore has really puffy cheeks so he's the cutest thing when eating
There's really something special about them orandas
Oh, funny side note: I read in one of my books that "some goldfish breeds have been developed with fluid filled bags under their eyes and cancerous growths covering their heads". "Cancerous growths"?! Someone really doesn't like fancy goldfish I think d:
That book was more aimed for tropical fish anyway ;>

Cancerous growths?? Haha
It's not like tropical fish haven't been specially bred! Silly people.

Andrea: I know! There are lots of tropicals that have been bred to have bigger fins for example! Apparently, nothing wrong with that d: But headgrowth, no no :C
Minde: $50 is pretty much of money... but how often do you come accross a calico oranda?

Go for it Mindemae I reckon. Like Nossie said how often do you see a calico Oranda, I only ever see Red Cap ones. Today I saw ones labelled "Aussie Red Cap Orandas"
I really wonder what makes them 'aussie' exactly? Haha.

Minde: Good quality goldies are expensive
Maybe he's extra fancy?
Of course, if you feel that you can't afford it now, you could just wait a while longer, maybe another one will be there soon?

She's doing well! She is a big fat round ball and is about the same size as Bobbi and Thor now.
