Problems with plants judged from their leaves...

Hi All!

I was waiting for someone to provide the info on how to judge about the problems plants have by their leaves. Actually I found a nice picture which summarises this info. Although I have no idea if someone already posted this picture on the forum I will assume the risk of posting it here (maybe without double posting). Take a look and maybe it might become very useful in determining what is the cause for the problems you might have in your tank with your green friends.

I guess it is for me too in some way but would I go buy the product that the plant needs?  Probably not!  I would just buy a new plant! LOL!  Much cheaper to replace the plant IMO!  BUT it is a very interesting chart. Wink

Just changing a plant won't resolve the problem and basically one finds him/herself with a problematic plant again. :-) I consider it is worth to "fight" a bit for any plant in the fishtank.

Yes, I agree, the price should be reasonable. I found out that just giving flourish excel is not enough to my plants - there should be something else to help my plants. So I will have to look into some plant nutrition additionally.

Actually I think I would buy something from Seachem to compliment Excel (maybe just Flourish) and then see results and if not I could try already some other brands as you've recommended. Thank you for the advice.

I am using Flourish and Flourish Excel in conjunction with each other at the moment.
It would be nice to have all the seachem products but that would not be very economical Cheesy
Thats why Flourish is good because it contains all the trace elements iron, calcium etc....
Flourish does not smell good like flourish excel does though lol xD
Also you should try the flourish root tabs as some plants absorb nutrients through their roots and others through their leaves.

Other than Seachem I have also heard good things about API. Although I cannot comment as I have never used any of their products.
