Wow Minde, congratulations to their first visible poo It is such an amazing journey you share here with us, it is about life, special bonding, love, just the best for Xmas. Gingle Karma, gingle Karma, gingle all the way... I think I'd wait to moving them yet, just see how they develop during the next few days.

DAY 19
Here we are at DAY 19, already! and headed down the stretch towards 3 weeks!! WOW, I am amazed when I think about it and how far we have come in just this short time. I am anticipating another growth spurt shortly and so I've set up their tank and it is cycling. It is a 15 gallon tank with 2 filters, which they are going to need. One is a hang on the back, power filter for a 10 gallon tank and the other one is an internal filter run by an air pump. I did put gravel on the bottom on the tank to help establish good bacteria growth and a natural "holey" rock in there for them to swim and play and hide in. (This will also establish good bacteria) I also put a little hornwort in there and will leave it just to float about. The power filter, if it is too strong, I have a sponge that will fit over the intake tube, to protect them from getting sucked up the filter, however the intake tube holes are very tiny so it may not even be a problem. I can also tone down the internal filter and adjust the air pump flow. I'm excited at the prospect of moving them. I've decided they should be at least a month old before I do this.
Let me know your thoughts on this.....I will post new DAY 19 pictures soon!

DAY 20Wow! I just thought of something!~ Tomorrow will be day 21 and so 3 weeks, and it's Christmas! The only thing I see growth wise different is that their bodies are thickening. They aren't little skinny, straight pin babies anymore they are developing a thicker body and they are not transparent anymore. I guess, what I mean to say is they are developing flesh and muscle over their bodies now. I've thought alot about when I move them to the aquarium and how their diet is going to have to change. The rotifers are the first thing to go off their new menu. I have to feed a more substantial diet and eliminate most of the powdery micro-foods I've been feeding them because I'm afraid when I transfer them to the 15 gallon, it will just pollute the tank, very quickly. Right now I am doing water changes before every meal and changing out their water at least every other day. And with the filters running, they will suck up the micro-foods, possibly before the babies can even eat them. So anyway, I've decided that week three will be an experiment on new foods. I am going to try crushing some of the foods I give to the other adult fish and make a list on which ones the babies will accept and eat. Pictures to follow later.
