Minde, fishergarten Karma for you. They really look so sweet in their new home and I really can imagine their size, like Neon Tetras, so cute. How did they behave after transfer? Did they race around to explore? And new food again to taste, lol, Thank you so much again for sharing this unique journey with us CONGRATULATIONS !!!

DAY 32The babies are enjoying being in the bigger digs! They are constantly swimming around and picking at everything. I have a holey rock cave in their tank and it is becoming algae covered, plus little bits of food probably fall down the holes and they pick and pick at it. They explore their whole world. They even pick at the filters!! They are maintaining their swimming just fine against the current of the two filters. I will test their water later today and see if I have any spikes in nitrites. this is what i'm most scared of, is some spikes due to the extra feedings they get throughout the day. Hoping my homemade filter media can handle it. Instead of the regular cartridges for the filter I am using smaller ones with floss behind that and then underneath small bio-balls. I'm hoping this wil be better able to handle the waste load of the extra feedings. So far it worked well with the small comets in there. I'll keep you updated. Pictures to follow later!

DAY 34Wow! Time flies!!! Babies grow! What is so facinating to me is the fact, that as soon as I put them in this 15 gallon tank with natural rock pebbles, the babies became a more silvery grey color. It's like they are wearing a different color to hide themselves better in their surroundings. I find this very interesting. I got growth food from Kensfish.com It's awesome...so fresh and vacuumed packed. The babies love it!

DAY 35Hello, fellow baby goldfish fans! I sadly have to report the loss overnite of the 2 littiest runts. I seriously think they got eaten by their peers as they just disappeared! I tore about the filter looking for their bodies any sign of them, but they are just gone....swallowed whole. They just weren't growing as fast as their brothers and sisters some were 3X's their size. It is the law of nature, survival of the fittest. So now we are 7. There are 4 big hearty babies. The rest are mediocre. Their growing speed is slightly less. I am feeding them all live frozen foods every other meal, either frozen daphnia or baby brine shrimp and then various growth foods. I am also introducing to them anything their parents are eating. For example I tried the freeze dried blood worms this am but that wasn't a huge hit. I crushed the blood worms up. This afternoon I will try crushed up krill and see if they will eat that. The water parameter continue to be perfect, altho I do a water change of about 25% every day. We will carry on the best we can.
