YUP! theyre starting to look less like bugs and more like fish! I can't wait to see them grow a little bigger

Just a tidbit, I definitely had a dream about these little guys.. only they had fully grown and I was looking from the cup's point of view. I even saw the turkey baster! XD Goshdarnit.. XD i have really messed up dreams.

I definitely see the difference in their size from day 9 to day 10. Sweet little buggers 

LOL Minde, sure you have dreams about them, they are NO1 at the moment every single day .. I've got dreamless nights at the moment   too tired from work... it's insane now

Kat, I'm hoping for at least an orange and white one!

My husband told me I told him to be careful last night and not hurt the babies. He's like "what babies" and I guess I toold him that the baby goldfish were in the bed LOL!  Sure shows how a tired mind thinks!

Oh my goodness Minde you must be tired! I once slept with a tiny budgie chick (4 days old) in a box next to me in bed. Whenever he stirred or cried I just touched him gently as he was looking for warmth from his mother (she abandoned him as she had 8 chicks in her clutch  ) anyway this was working along with a magic bag I placed under the box to keep his temp constant. I'd nuke it in the microwave a few times thru the night. I'll never forget waking up having slept thru the whole night and there was no sound coming from the box and looking to see that the little one had passed away. I was destroyed for weeks after that. You have to know you are doing amazing work raising these tiny treasures Minde Every day is a blessing coming on here and reading of your progress - thank you ♥

Awww...April that is so sad about the chick....but at least you tried and did your best!

You are, Minde. So so dedicated to these little ones. I mean, you get a sense of what it's like to have children, what with your sleepless nights. And I saw an orange and white fishy in my dream too! looked like my little Sono, but thats cause Im biased XD

Hey maybe the father was Smidget seeing as they are runts  Hahaha (yes I know they are in different tanks ). Maybe they could be for friends for him  I hope the littlest one makes it but if not as least you know you are being the best fishie mum ever

I didn't really bother looking for kids in my tank, mainly because I'm sure the eggs would all get eaten
And I wouldn't have time to care for fry at all because of my job

I hope I have dreamless night because most of my dreams can be disturbing.

DAY 12

Wow! What can I say but that it is almost 2 weeks since I found those tiny shreds of glass.
Every day I see a miracle of life unfold right before my very eyes.
Yesterday I took pictures of the babies at around 11 am and last night at their last feeding, a little more than 12 hours later, I saw more growth and development.
Thank you for letting me share this wonderful, and educational, and amazing experience with you!
They are of course a bit bigger in size and I notice that in the am I don't have as much coarser food to clean out from their feeding the night before.  The brine shrimp are all eaten up quickly, now.  I love watching them chase the tiny pieces around as the bubbler softly swirls the food all over their container.
With the babies eating more there is alot less clean up, so I now only do a complete water change every other day.
   I will post Day 12 pictures later!

Look at the little buggers! Soooo cute, and they sound like they're just full of energy!

I haven't been looking for baby goldfish, I don't think Tiger is the boy I wanted XD and the most I've seen out of my two fishes is playfighting at best. They chase each other around the tank and push one another into the ground... sooo funny watching those two. I don't think it's bullying either, as no one is getting hurt, there's no fin nipping, and it lasts for a few seconds. XD

But really, Minde, you've done an amazing job taking care of these little miracles. It's truly fascinating, watching these little guys grow! I really think that they're on a good road to survival, and I want them to grow as fast as possible! I'm getting impatient! lol!!

I love how you never fail to post pictures every day, and give a little info on how they're feeding and what they're doing. Have they developed personalities yet? or are they too young to tell? No matter, they will be beautiful fish when all's sad and done, I'm just having problems WAITING. I suppose all good things take time. I'm glad you're taking care of these little guys, Minde. You're doing phenomenally. Just remember to eat, girl! XD and sleep! goodness me, it sounds like you have your hands full with ACTUAL children lol


I know it's common for fish to eat fresh vegitables and the like. Perhaps it's not a good idea for little fish fry, but at the same time, I have to ask when you may start such feeding behaviour. Probably not till they're older. XD poor little things, they're just tryin to grow up

I wish I had a bigger tank, and more time to actually look for small fish babies. I think, from what you have so far, Minde, that caring for these little guys is a lot of work, but very rewarding in the end
