Hi, my name is cobi, I live in the UK
recently I have realised how addictive keeping goldfish can be.
in november 010 my last of the old community tank died, I had 1 pleco and three commons, the last and largest of the commons Zeus was found peacefully floating in tank one morning, he was pure orange and grew to the length of a pepsi can.
in early december I decided it was time to start again, I realised I could not afford the large 60 gallon tank anymore and I got out my old 31 gallon tank, I went to my LFS and purchased 2 ryukins and 1 red cap oranda, both of which I have never kept as commons have always been my preference, I realised there was a large difference in my old tank and my new one, the old tank was very interesting with my fast commons darting all over the place and the stunning pleco while the new tank is very peacefull and you can watch for hours when stressed, its very calming. The three new ones are called norris, frio and mickey.
In june-july I hope to purchase a new 50-60 gallon tank and seriously upgrade, after some advice on keeping them together from my LFS owner I decided I would be keeping commons with fancies, I intend to buy 2 commons if I get the 55 gallon and may add in another ryukin if I get a bigger tank, every time I go to me LFS I see the fish and every time I nearly come out with 1, but I know the dangers of overstocking. I intend to post some pics of my current 3 fish on monday or tuesday for you.
thanks

Welcome to the forum, CJB!
I know how that is; everytime I enter a store I can't resist adding another beautiful creature to my collection of 8. Love to see some of your fish; photos are always appreciated!!

Welcome and I'm glad you have got some new fish and are giving them a good home! There's one thing I'm not sure of, and that's because I've always heard that you shouldn't keep common goldfish with fancies, because they will eat all the food, etc.
