Drilled holes

What are drilled holes in tanks for? I've seen a few good tanks on QLDAF, but lots of them have holes. I don't know whether I should buy them or not.

If the holes are in the upper end of the tank, it's simply for the cables to be put through, for filters, heaters and air stones
Nothing to worry about! But you of course need to be a bit careful so you won't fill the tank too close to the holes

It's a pretty good forum. Not much about goldfish though, but they do have some awesome tanks.

A sump is a container liquid drains into.
I agree, not much about goldfish, but as wehave tropicals too, it helps a lot. We had a come together about 4-5 weeks ago, it was great. Great people and so knowledgeable. And quite a lot keep goldfish too

come on hanna twell them what a sump is
the holes are for overflow. the water drain in the overflow falls down via a pipe. into a sump. sump is the best type of filter u can get and does not cost that much money. the water in the sump go though a pre filter then a filter then it goes though somthing for good bacteria that never gets cleaned then it get pump back up to the tank though a pump u can buy at a hardware store
