Laying Eggs Question

I have never seen goldfish eggs before and my new Oranda Bob (which now I'll call Bobbi), has blessed me with a tank full of eggs this am.  Bobbi is the only fish in the tank so therefore I know the eggs will not be fertilized.
Obviously, Bobbi has chosen to not eat her eggs so is it ok to just leave them alone and let nature so to speak take it's course? OR should I try and remove the eggs so they don't foul up the water.

Just some tidbits about egg development.  The water temperature for fertilized eggs should be kept between 66 F and 74 F and the eggs should begin to hatch in aproximately 3 - 5 days. Eggs in colder water temperatures will require a longer period to hatch. Fertile healthy eggs are clear and round. Unfertile eggs will sometimes be opaque and appear tan or white.  Egg fungus can start to appear on unfertile eggs after 24 hours.
As far as leaving the eggs from your oranda in the tank, since they are unfertile i would suggest you remove them as soon as possible to avoid any problems.

Mindemae: It depends if you want to have fish kids or not. I mean, if you dont want a bunch of little guys running around in your tank then by all means remove them. Or if you just want to see them develop and maybe sell them later then grab a baby fish box and let them hatch.

There would have to be a male goldfish in the tank for the eggs to hatch!

Sad awwwww... wouldnt it be great of people could fertilize fish eggs? (Please dont ask where this is comming from.. Im really tired right now hahahahah). I know this isnt possible because of chromosome difference.. but still... Waitaminnit... How did she have eggs in the first place? do fish just lay eggs cause they feel like it? O_o

Yep, so to speak...um think of a hen.  We eat unfertilized eggs from a chicken.  If the rooster was around to fertilize the eggs then they would hatch into baby chicks.  Same pretty much with fish...only they hatch into fish  Wink

AHHH! What temp do fish need to lay eggs? do fish die from not laying eggs?

If I had to guess, I would say that Bobbi probably laid her eggs from the stress of a new environment. 
I had only had her a few days!!  I was shocked to see the eggs.  I've never seen goldfish eggs before, just babies in my pond.
I think goldfish, as well as any egg laying animal, would have problems if they couldn't lay their eggs.  I would think with goldfish if they got "impacted with eggs" that it might interfere with their swim bladder.  A change in the temperature (warmer) of their surroundings usually makes goldfish in the spawning mood.

Can the eggs be a gold color we have a gold fish and when you look at her your can see a gold color. We are new to gold fish and never have had the experience of a fish that is about to deliver . we are not sure what to look for either hope some one can give us some ideals about this. How long do the carry thier eggs?

Gold fish eggs are clear in color and the size of the head on a straight pin.
Usually goldfish spawm once a year in the spring that live a pond.
In aquariums tho, a change in the water temp can encourage spawning.

A 25% water change can also help to encourage an egg-filled female to lay.

No I didn't.  Didn't even think about it actually.
If she does it again I'll try to get a picture but the eggs are so small that I'm not sure if they will show up real well with my digital. Undecided
