just in case its ich
« on: May 09, 2012, 04:03:00 PM »

ok I just looked at roy and noticed there is a white spot on his fins one on front right and one on back left he does not stay still so this is the best pic I could get, if it is is it contagious? did a 10% water change aswell earlier and didint notice this earlier. and should I move the other fish in to the other tank if its not contagious. our should i just get the treatment and treat both the fish?

ONE spot is never ich. It looks more like the fish has been sprinkled with salt or something allover the body and fins.

And start making bigger water changes than 10%, it doesn't make the slightest difference. Do at least 30% every few days (your tank is heavily overstocked so you'll need to work harder to keep the fish healthy.)

A white spot? Is this spot opaque or translucent?

Is this fish eating? Is it acting odd in any manner i.e. flashing/bottom sitting, are there any other signs externally of infection? i.e. other spots, red marks or veins showing in the tail.

the spot it just on the very tip of the fin and is eating just like always and swimming around moveing gravel around on the bottom of the tank looking for food, and I do 10-20% every 2 days and gravel pump the bottom. thanks again if more spot appear though i'll post up as 1 has dissapeared overnight.
