Re: where to put your tank

In my previous apartment our whole wall was windows, more or less, so I didn't have much of a choice of where to put it. But there was thick forest by the windows, so even if the sun was shining into the apartment, it never reached directly to my tanks, and that's what's important. It doesn't really matter if you keep it near a window as long as cold isn't leaking in on winters, and as long as the sun isn't shining directly on the tank for long periods of the day. Mom has her tank about 2 meters from a window, but this works fine, and she never had troubles with algae or temperature fluctuations because the sun doesn't shine there until evenings, and again, the forest is covering most of it So, as long as the sun won't have too much of an impact on the tank, there's no problem with keeping it close to a window. The end
