Every time I perform a weekly water change, should I put aquarium salt in it too? (Depending on the tank size of course).

Unless you have a marine set up, salt is only ever needed for a medical situation, when appropriate.
Do not add salt if you have a tropical or cold water set up Smiley

Water changes are simply the removal of some old pond water, and the replacement of that old pond water water with new water. It sounds so simple but there are problems, nationwide.

First, water can be chlorinated.

Second, alot of pond keepers don't do water changes, at all.

Thirdly, failure to do water changes allows the accumulation of background pollution such as phosphates and proteins which inhibit fish health and growth.

Finally, water changes need to replenish trace elements and minerals in your pond water which your fish need.   (Link is not visible to guests. Please register to view.)
