Nossie, email would work fine for me, but I don't see that option either. lol

All of the other fish sites have the option to either send private messages or emails to other members. I like that. I don't like relying on these threads as my only means of contact. You for one would be someone that I would probably have one on one conversations with.

Maybe I should just invite all of you to my facebook page. lol

Man, I have the weirdest people on the friends list, they talk to me about such intimate stuff, and I HATE IT @_@

Okay, I found one anubis and three apple snails (Francois, Hansel, and Keith) for the 5. I got some Nite-Out II for the 5 gallon tank as well. I put two small common goldfish in the tank to help it cycle and I'm planning on feeding those fish to my ducks when the tank is cycled well.

The guy at the store said that amazon swords (i think that was the plant..) grow fast enough that even if the fish nibble on them they'll survive. Comments on that?

I'm keeping an eye out for some java fern and more anubis. Also Francois hadn't moved overnight, so I'm not sure he's okay.

Does it have an earthy kind of smell? That's how it's supposed to smell when it's a healthy system.

I honestly don't remember how big your tank was, or what you kept in it, but I'm pretty sure it was either empty or didn't have much inhabitants..?

It smelled fish-foody. It's not filling the whole room; I think i just got a whiff of something unfortunate. So, nevermind.

I got in a small car accident with a pole (*headdesk*) so I'm strapped for money for quite awhile.. So probably no fish tank for a long time. And then moving it up to college in the fall would be a hassle... I may wait until I move to set it up. But I'm determined this will happen..

What do you recommend? Get it cycled, running for a couple months, then have to move all the fish and tank an hour's drive? Or wait 6 months to even get started?

I'd wait with setting the tank up, but then you could do that as one of the first things when you're moving and bring the fish with you after a few days/a week Smiley

I'm not very happy about waiting so long :/

Well one of the feeders I got from petsmart has ick i think (surprise...). How should I go about healing it? Is the 'ick gone' whatever in the store the best option? Homemade/cheap cures? I'm not attached to this fish, but it also doesn't need to die :p

The snails are doing great, I found a small baby one but I haven't seen it in awhile. I'm not sure if it was a baby apple snail or just one of the random snails that come in on new plants.
