I finally bought the frozen bloodworms for my goldfish and am very pleased!   I was using the freeze-dried ones because the frozen ones always looked so disgusting to me from all the pictures I've seen.  But those pictures must be really magnified.  These frozen bloodworms are so nice and easy and my goldfish love them almost as much as peas!  They just look like small black lines. 

I had the option of buying either 1 huge block or the individual blocks in the tin foil and plastic (both by Hikari).  I like the individual blocks better too.  That's how I buy the frozen brine shrimp as well.

There was another brand (I forgot to check the name), the girl at Petsmart said she doesn't like it as much because when she uses them they seem dirty.

I haven't tried smelling them yet...  

When I break my pieces, I put 1-2 blocks into a small plastic sandwich bag, set the bag on my counter top, then use the bottom of a glass to gently crush them.  It works well.  You could probably use the corner of a glass to break off a chunk of yours.

Yes I notice when feeding Lucky the freeze dried tubifex they have an interesting aroma... XD

There is one company Nossie, that I've seen here, called Gamma, that I've mentioned in another thread, they sell food in the blister packs, maybe the company sells where you are?
