My trio of happy goldies.
« on: November 28, 2011, 06:35:12 PM »

My old thread was named The 4 Stooges, but unfortunately there is 4 no longer. My gang is now a trio. 3 Musketeers perhaps? lol But I'm happy to say they have been doing very well and are growing quite a bit. I see a bigger tank looming in the future ( Hopefully ). Bob ( Tancho Comet) Curly ( Sarasa Comet ) and Larry ( Common Goldfish ) Bob had a bit of pea stuck in his mouth, that's why he's acting off in the video I did'nt notice it until afterwards.

Little Bob! He is lovely! I noticed him chewing away  Smiley Did he eat the pea in the end or spit it back out?
It's amazing when he swims into the light! I wonder what the shadow is, that I see when ever he swims into the light?
Around 16/17 seconds into the view, if you pause it... you'll see what I mean  Cheesy

Glad to see their doing well  Grin

Thanks all. Smiley I can't wait to see them bigger either, they're going to be pretty fish.

As for Bob, I'm not really sure what that shadow is. O.o All I can guess is that becuase he's still so young and small and he's silvery, he's actually some what see through? XD It reminds me of baby tarantulas, they're very much pale and see through until they reach a certain age and then they start thickening out and growing their hair and such.

He spat the pea out and it broke into little peices and then he went after the peices. lol

Who knows. I think the sea through thing is plausable though, because when he had the pea stuck in his mouth, I could see through his chin and see this green pea in there. XD

Oh that's interesting... maybe theres a type of colouring that makes him transparent like that?

On an off note, I type in 'Transparent Goldfish' to google and this little guy came up;

Quite an interesting article too (Link is not visible to guests. Please register to view.)
Scientists developing see through goldfish, so classes no longer need to dissect things!

Yeah I think the transparency in Bob is either a color thing or an age thing, it may or may not lessen as he gets bigger. It makes sense that a silver/white fish would be more see through as appose to a big orange fish like Larry.

I think Bob looks a tad transparent because his body is pretty thin and small still, once he'll develop a lager body mass, he won't look like that anymore Smiley But white goldfish do reflect the light a lot better of course, than other colored goldfish. Bob does have metallic scales, right? Cheesy
