fish staying at bottom of tank?

My fish (feeder guppy) i just got yesterday along with two companions. At the fish store the two companions were put in a different bag which exploded and gave them quite a shock from falling on the floor. Anyway, they died this morning so now I just have the one. He's staying near the bottom of the tank not really moving at all. Why is he doing this? Is there any way to help him? Is it because he's lonely (used to swimming in a tank with more than one fish in it) or because of the shock of moving him to a new aquarium? Thanks in advance for any answers!

Is the remaining fish a feeder guppy?
If you get any type of feeder fish (guppies or any other), it's strongly advisable that  you quarantine them for minimum of 2 - 3 weeks alone, since most feeder fish are full of diseases ( finrot, ich, ..and everything else) .  Feeder guppies are often neglected at the pet store so when you get them home, the chances of them surviving is very slim.  If you want to keep fish , it's best to buy the regular type and avoid the feeders.

The fish staying at the bottom could be due to shock. Are there any sign of diseases on the fish?

That's terrible Sad I get really sad imagining those poor guppies falling out of the bag Cry

But to the business, Nabi is right in every sense. Feeder fish should in general be avoided, just for the reason that they're hard to cure and keep alive the first weeks! So I'm pretty certain that the one you have there might be taking his last breath Sad And it's probably from all the diseases it's been exposed to while staying in the pet shop, and from the stress of being moved to a new place. But I don't know... you could try adding a bit of medical aquarium salt to his tank and see if he gets better! Keep an eye on the water quality too Smiley

I share the same views like nabi and Nossie.
At the same time I truly feel with you and good on you that you tried to rescue some poor feeder fishies lives.
