Fish with issues
« on: May 11, 2009, 05:25:41 AM »

Hi, I have a fish pond approx 6ft x 4ft by 2.5ft deep with 13 fish. All of my fish seem very normal well balanced individuals with the exception of one which seems to have a personality disorder.  Tongue
The fish is 5 years old and approx 8-10 inches long. It used to be black (the type that looks gold when you see them in an aquarium, but they look black when you look down on them). About 3 years ago it turned completely bright orange.
This fish spends the majority of it's life laying on the bottom of the pond. At feeding time it zooms up to the top, guzzles food then goes back down to the bottom and lays there until it's next zoom up to the top for more food.
Is this normal? I got another identical fish at the same time as I got this one, the other one is still black and acts normally.

The fish seems like a good size and has been acting this way for the majority of its life. As long it is eating, i don't think there is anything wrong with it.  Some fish just has its own peculiar habit .
