That would be my advice aswell! Another tank! Where is your current tank?

Honestly I would just find an affordable 55-75 gallon tank because even if you re-home a fantail your four remaining fish cannot thrive in thirty gallons. So re-home all but 2 (maybe 3) or buy a bigger tank.

Unfortunately another tank isn't an option for us Sad so two of the fish are going to have to go.. We don't get many garden or car boot sales in un-sunny England.. Having enough trouble finding another filter to go on my tank that wont break the bank!

We're just worried that they'll end up with someone who has no clue what they're doing

That probably will happen, but it's your best bet if you really, really can't upgrade :/

If you're in the UK you could try looking at All Ponds Solution, I got a nice external filter from them rather reasonable last month Smiley

I believe Practical Fish-Keeping also has lists of recommended retailers and things (Link is not visible to guests. Please register to view.)

It might help with finding cheap things and some shops even do deals, where if you find an item at a certain price online they'll match or beat it, World of Water for example is one shop that does that with certain things.
