Goldfish Photos

I tried taking some underwater photos of my goldfish with my camera lol not sure if you can tell the difference though.
I need to invest in a new underwater camera Smiley and some more plants.

The fantail is Nemo (common name I know but hey it was 5 years ago lol).
The Pearlscale is Bubbles because he likes swimming above the air stone.
The comet is Fanta.

They are getting spoilt now I'm on uni holidays lol. Every time I go into the kitchen its so hard to not give them a treat because they're just so darn cute! I discovered today that they love cucumber - cut up really small without the skin of course!

Abbie, your goldies are stunning and gorgeous photos! It's tricky to get pics of them as they are always wiggling. These just made me smile Wink Cucumber, I must try that too. The other day I was feeding my budgie some banana and thought I'd drop a small morsel in my goldies tank...he inhaled it and came back for more! Enjoy your holiday Smiley

Oh really banana, I will have to try that. I put some lettuce in the tank, little Bubbles ripped it in half but then quickly spat it out haha.

I don't like having favourites...but I must say Nemo is my favourite too lol. Probably because I have had him the longest.
Yeah some of them turned out good, a lot of them turned out blurry though  Angry

Yeah I will experiment tomorrow and let you all know what they liked! I will try rock melon, zuchinni, apple and banana next Smiley
I don't think they will ever love any veggies as much as they love their peas though.
Is there any veggies or fruits that are bad for goldfish?

I just love that deep red/orange color on a goldfish!
The second picture is my favorive....what a handsome guy he is!!!
My goldfish are rather picky.  They don't care for apple or banana.
The only fruit they like is oranges and with veggies they prefer, red leaf lettuce, chopped spinach, chopped broccoli, zucchini and of course the peas. Cheesy
They do like seaweed tho.  I give them both red and green about once a week.
I guess just try and see what they like.  If they don't like it they will let you know! Cheesy

I just have the one chubby goldie named Mr. Tailer or Tailer, porkbelly, pudgemuffin, Mr. Fish, I could go on Wink He was a hand me down from my Niece early last June. He's at least tripled in size since then and gives great fishy kisses  Kiss

hahaha, fishy kisses, guess what I tried with our "Golden Girl" Hepsi yesterday, when I opened the lid I bend down with my face just over the water and gave kinda kisses, she wasn'r scared at all, stuck her head out towards me and opened and closed her little mouth.
Brian cracked up, he said: This fish loves you so much Han, it is like she wants to kiss you   Grin

Abbie, just try like Minde mentioned  Wink they'll let you know if they don't like it. The only thing I'd be careful not feeding tooooo much is fruit with acid in them, only a tiny bit.

April, did your niece see Mr.Tailer, how well he is now?  Shocked  Grin

@ April aw yeah thats right. Your goldfish is adorable. You took some really good photos of him. What camera did you use?

Haha thats so cute Hanna. I don't know if my fish would try and kiss me lol but sometimes they nibble on my finger Smiley

I tried rockmelon today and they loved it!

I have a little point and shoot Nikon Coolpix. I mostly use the macro setting and bright overhead light (an LED tank light from my new tank) to avoid flashes. His tank is on the kitchen counter so I just pull up a chair and rest the camera on the back of it so I don't need a tripod Smiley

Hanna, no she hasn't seen him but I spoke with her last night and told her of his incredible growth spurt especially in the last 2 weeks!  Grin I adore that your sweet Hepsi tries to give you actual kisses ♥

I might pick one up because then if I end up dropping it like my last camera it doesn't matter so much lol.

That is awesome Abbie, I recommend it - the quality of the little lens is excellent and very easy to get to know the settings. Also comes in lots of funky colours Wink $94 is sweet, when I got mine last January it was approx. $230 technology just keeps on pumping better and better gadgets out! Would so love an SLR one day.

p.s. always slip the strap over your hand and no more serious drops Cheesy I call it my 'id*ot' string! Oh, c'mon...you can't use the word id*ot on here - what a riot!

Haha yeah I will definitely be getting that one or the next model up which is only like $30 more!
Yeah I bought my camera for like $500 2 years ago and now the photos look pretty bad compared to photos taken with newer cameras. It was expensive because its like waterproof, snow proof and shatter proof so it doesn't matter if i drop it again lol. Funny enough I don't think I actually have dropped it Cheesy

That strap will come in handy. Especially when I'm taking photo of my goldfish so I don't accidently drop it in the tank  Roll Eyes

I was thinking about trying to feed strawberries to my fish too! Cheesy
But I'm not buying them too much, at most I eat them at home in summer where we grow them ourselves Smiley

That so cool you grow them yourself. We have some strawberry plants but they produce the tinniest little strawberries that don't taste very flavourful lol...

Aww! We got some really huge ones once the plants had been "up and running" for a while xD But it takes time with those things, I've no idea how to do it, I just went out and snatched a berry now and then Wink

My Honey had a white belly when I got him, but he's turned completely red now Cheesy And Berry seems to be moving her red spots around xD

Fanta is a handsome pretty fella, I think he's a boy too, looking at his gillcovers.
But you also can tell with the pectoral fins, if they are pointy it's a boy and if their first ray is pretty strong and shows breeding stars too.
