goldfish survive 134 days with no power

hi all, I read this story a couple of weeks ago and thought it might interest some of you... its about two goldfish who survived 134 days since the earthquake hit New Zealand. They were without any food or electricity to power their tank filter and lights. They were apparently in a building that was off limits since the earthquake and it wasn't till workmen were allowed in to shure things up that they were discovered still alive...

It just proves how hardy goldfish are. Well, those two.
The others were probably used as lunch.
I have seen goldfish eat dead fish before, in my very own bedroom. Ick. Tongue

Wow great story, thanks for sharing it with us Ron...hardy little guys, the survivors most likely (but sadly) et up the ones that passed away, and it became survival of the fittest.  Shocked I love the chocolate fish though, despite his recent diet <3

Thanks Goldie, it is just as Nossie said, they can go quite a while without being fed, but no filter and light etc, is interesting... cheers

Wow....this gives me hope that my goldies will survive without a filter. ( That is until I get one of course.)

Goldfishnoob: You have really hardy fish, they could even live outside in the winter if you had them in a pond, so I have no doubt that they'll make it 'til you get the filter and upgrade to a bigger tank Cheesy
