Yay! I've been on that site from time to time! Cheesy And I've got a few products by the same brand c: Most of my water tests for example, and some sinking pellets. But I once read a booklet I downloaded from there, about keeping goldfish... uhm, as a reason not to keep them in a bowl, they've written that the fish get stressed from the vibrations in the water caused by their movements that "bounce off" the walls in the bowl. Nothing else. I've kept my fish in a round tank, and none of them have ever seemed stressed Huh So I was like "wtf?", I think they should've said something more... useful and true about that d:

But, to the case, I've heard that most liquid vitamins are completely useless to add to the tank water, and it will usually "come off" the food as soon as it gets wet. So the fish won't really absorb them in any useful form, but the vitamins will just be floating around in the water. UNLESS, you add it to homemade food, to some vegetable/meat things in jelly or something, that way they'll stay where they're intended d:

One more thing! C-vitamin will dissolve in water, meaning that it's even more useless if added to the water. Now, I don't know how it is about other vitamins though... >>

Yes Vit C is soluble in water, other vitamins dissolve in in oil.

But my other thought is: as fish live in water and water goes through their system, they sure absorb that part of vitamins "floating" in the water and the rest gets eaten with the soaked food. "?"

There's meant to be C-vitamin in the mix, I noticed, and I can't help but feel suspicious about it... Shouldn't they know that it'll dissolve in water and in that case, be useless?
I was reading about this in my book about fish health, and liquid vitamins weren't mentioned absolutely anywhere. There was a whole section about nutritional deficencies, and as solution to the problem, they needed a varied diet with frozen and freeze-dried food to supplement the staple food. In other words, I haven't seen ANY liquid vitamins ever being supported by experienced aquarists.

Neither have I.
This is the reason why my mind is bobbling about it, and as you said: VitC dissolves in water, even if fresh salads or veggies are left the concentration of Vit C gets less and less, this is why it is said the fresh and frozen veggies are better than those ones you buy in the supermarket..... Hmmm I scratch my head and got wooden splinters underneath my fingernails.... Wink

Haha! Cheesy Nah, I really don't know how it works... I still find it hard to believe that they'd make something like this only to gain money... It's really weird.. I should buy more books and see if I can find an answer!! *motivation is glowing*
