Whenever I give my fish food, right after I leave so she can eat since she is so shy and she won't do anything when I'm there.  After a while I come back and small bits and pieces are gone, but I'm not sure if she's eating them or if they are falling apart into tiny pieces that I can't see, or sinking down to the rocks at the bottom of her tank.  I've never seen her eat and I'm starting to get worried.     Any advice?  Does she just not like her food?

I have found that the best way to get the trust from the fish, is to spend as much time as possible near the tank, sitting / walking by - then the get use to you being around and dosnt treat you as a possible danger.

When i feed, i keep my hands near the water - and after a while the eat out of my hand, at first they wont come near, but there is always one that is brave enough, and the rest will follow.

Sometimes I wet my finger in tank water dip it into some GF crisps, they get stuck on my fingertip and then I feed our fishies, they come up to the surface and nibble and gobble it off my finger... sooo cuuuute

We do that too.  As for nibbling, it depends on what mood they're in and what I've been touching.   If I was just eating baby carrots, cutting up cucumber or (like tonight) eating seasoned french fries, I find they are *quite* friendly with my fingers.
By the way, no baby yet, but we're having some promising contractions tonight.  I'll keep everyone posted.

ohhhhh, Nicole that's exciting news!!!  I'll keep my fingers crossed that the contractions are the real thing and you have an easy labor and delievery!

Sometimes I just sit and watch my fish.  It is so relaxing.  Sometimes it makes me fall asleep! LOL!
