Are almond leaves healthy for Goldfish?

Gold fish like there PH around 7.5 correct? What would almond leaves do to the PH...I have aqurium salt in my water, which is supposed to be good for them. Do almond leaves and salt work agianst eachother or how does that work? Nothing is wrong with my Gold fish , I just want them as happy as they can be.
I have someBIO-LIF water treatmentpacks, they look like tea packs...do not know if I should use them or not. Huh

I don't have experience with almond leaves, but if they work for other fish, I don't see why you couldn't use some. Unless they're meant to soften the water and lower the pH, then it should be avoided in a goldfish tank Smiley

And don't use salt unless your fish are sick!! Adding salt on a regular basis is bad for freshwater fish since they're not meant to live in salty water. It will also make whichever harmful parasites or microorganisms more resistant when you'll actually need to treat the fish for various diseases.

I only use 1/2 teaspond of salt per gallon. I only add salt when changing water and only half teaspon per changed gallon. I read that amount it is good for them, even if not sick, helps prevent them from getting sick, no?

Almond leaves are for softing the water..so I geuss they are no good for Goldfish.

No, it really doesn't. Many people think though, that salt is something that goldfish need, but it's only specific kinds of fish that need slightly salty/brackish water Smiley
It also slows down the filter bacteria so that the ammonia is broken down slower while having salt in the tank.
I recently had to add some to my 83 gallon, and after that I had nitrite spikes and one of my fish got badly sick :/ Only to be used when treating parasites, fungus or helping the fish heal visible wounds Smiley
