Help!
« on: December 13, 2010, 11:39:45 PM »

Hahahah I don't need help with fish. I need help making a FISH KEEPING GUIDE: easy to read, easy to follow, and informative

What I need from you, my fellow favorite fishy friends, is pictures and information, tips and tricks, the like. I'll compile a document regarding basic goldfish care, and post it up on the forum. Cheesy

If you want to send me things, feel free to do so. My email should be visible on my profile, so go ahead and look there Cheesy

I'm sorry, but I'm a lazy bum, so I'll just go and point you to the article I made about fin rot, and various types of fish foods Smiley Can be found in the health and illness section + the general discussion part Smiley

What a fun idea Cheesy

I've kept a journal of all the fish problems and abnormal symptoms I've encountered. What works, what hasn't, and so on. I've found it helpful...perhaps you could try something like that in your guide   Smiley

ooh yes! both good ideas, Iwill definitely include different species and what to look for and look out for in specific fish XD and a journal would be good, but caring for my fish is about as exciting as watching paint dry (which I have done. its NOT exciting at all XD), however, looking at them and watching their different personalities develop is more than rewarding XD

I've heard about keeping a journal about when you do water changes, the results of water tests... but frankly, I'm too lazy, and I'd most likely forget to write it down 70% of the time d: So it would probably not be very helpful. However, I do keep it in my calendar so I'll remember when to do water changes Cheesy

I just do my testing and water changes if need be, every weekend.  If I'm going to be busy on the weekend I do it Fri. Wink
And then the first of every month or close to the first, I do filter maintenance.

This sounds like a really great idea! I've kept a journal almost every day since joining this forum. However I let a few days go by recenlty since my gung ho start and I've got little notes on the calendar or bits of paper floating around my desk with various stats on water tests and changes. The info contained in the day to day posts on here is incredible as a reference too. All the best Katarine Smiley
