Hey guys its me!
Right, so Ive been away for one night! Why does everything go wrong when you're not there! Basically it looks like Carlos has been stuck in one of the ornaments in the tank, as there is evidence of this. He is badly torn up, torn fin, and scales missing and his head is scraped. Not bleeding or anything which is a good sign, just doesn't look too nice!
What could I do to make this better? do a slight water change and add salt? is that everything?

Yeah Im just changing the water, do you think Goldmed is good to use? And if i use this can i still use salt too? Poor thing! He looks so sorry for himself! Acting normal though so thats a good sign! Thanks!

I'm not sure how meds or salt would react with the cycle to be honest...generally I don't like salt, although others swear by it. My view is this, we used to use it on humans, but then we discovered antiseptics.

I would just make sure that you keep the water scrupulously clean and keep an  eye on him....you could give him a salt bath in a tupperware container if the wound is open

I wouldn't use salt or meds in the tank just yet. I would dab the wounds once with hydrogen peroxide and then just keep the water quality perfect. There is a sticky on this procedure at the top of the illness page.

Okay I will not use anything just yet then? I have used the goldmed before though and it worked a treat? But I suppose I am in the cycling process.
Thanks! I will just change the water and see how it goes? I don't have any hydrogen peroxide Cheri  Undecided and to be honest and I little scared to do that!  Undecided
