Aww! :'D How nice of you! (:

It went really well, I was looking at the fish in the tank for a while, there was only a little golden oranda left along with Horus, but unfortunately, the little oranda was a bit slow when swimming and his dorsal was hanging a bit... :C So I decided to get the perky pompom instead! He was so fast and awesome that the pet shop worker could barely catch him at all! Definitely a good sign *nod nod*

He's been eating well since yesterday, but he still seems to be a it shy Wink I was talking to him from time to time and sometimes he's just staring at me like a bit question mark, but he's been really interested in exploring the tank! So I do think he's perfectly healthy (:

Like I mentioned in another thread, I'll try to get some pictures once he'll be more comfortable Wink Besides, I think I left my camera in my apartment xD

He actually greeted me today for the first time! *happy* He opened his little- big mouth almost as to make a little "hi" sound :'D
All my other fish have lots of interesting stories to tell c: And they seem to be getting more and more crazy about food recently xD

AAWWWWWWWW this is really sweet and cute.
I believe that they want to communicate with us. It is the different ways they are wiggling, paddling with their front fins or how they swim arround when you look at them.

Most probably, yes! (: Although, I'm sure 80% of the times they don't want to tell you about their day, but simply try and get some more tasty blood worms... xD

I want to pick up blood worms or brine shrimp. I like trying new foods, as Tiger seems to want to try them quite readily Smiley still need to pick up a banana XD

They are cute.  Today after breakfast, ours just stared at me sitting on the couch.  Turns out they just wanted me to come and sit in front of the tank and talk to them!  Ours hang out in the corner closest to the couch, then wiggle to get our attention.  We wave to them and say "Hi fish!" and they all wave their left fins at us! Smiley
While shopping for baby stuff (I'm due on the 20th), I found this cute children's book about a pet goldfish called "Not Norman".  A kid gets a pet goldfish and at first doesn't really want him, but they end up bonding when he sees how friendly and cute his new goldie is (and the goldfish even sings along when he plays the tuba!).  Does anyone else know of any cute children's books about fishies?  We're doing a whole fish theme in the baby's room. Smiley

Hi Nicole,
Congrats on the new baby!! Do you know if it's a girl or boy? Smiley
As far as books, it's not really a childrens, but it might come in handy later on when your child is a little older.
It is The Encyclopedia of Aquarium and Pond Fish.  What a beautiful book this is by David Alderton.  The info is wonderful and the pictures of all kinds of fish, tropical, Marine, freshwater etc. are just beautiful!  I LOVE this book!
David Alderton also wrote a childs book called "Looking After MY Pet Goldfish".  Giving kids a good start in properly taking care of their goldfish pets.
So those are my 2 recommendations. Wink

Congratulations, Nicole! Cheesy
Bet that room's going to look lovely (: By the way, I would agree with Mindemae about this Encyclopedia she recommended, it has absolutely wonderful photos! For example a Hatchet fish that's flying Wink Or Cichlids that are spitting rocks out (posing at the same time)... I bet a child would love seeing these pictures (:
Otherwise, I have a pretty simple book about goldfish care with not too much of text and with pretty big pictures, it's called "An essential guide to keeping Goldfish" by Bernice Brewster. But then I think it would be more suitable for your child when he/she'd be a little bit older (: Maybe 6?

Yeah, I'm glad it's just one and not a whole bunch.  At this point the baby is heavy and pushing on me, making me wish I just could lay eggs. Wink
We have no idea if it's a boy or a girl.  We want to be surprised.  It also hid during the ultrasound.
Pics are no problem.  We'll post some soon.  We have fish pictures, a fish swing, a wooden fish puzzle that teaches colors, fish outfits, a dolphin bib, and a toy that has fish in different fabric textures (bumpy rubber, shag fur, satin, etc.) that plays sounds or music when you press each fish.  We're also thinking about getting enlarged, laminated pictures of our fish and putting a letter of the baby's name on each (Delenn for a girl, Torin for a boy).
I'll be sure to check out those book titles.  They sound good.  We are pretty sure our kid's first word will be "fishie". Smiley

Nicole: Laying eggs would be so cool. I really want to have two children later, but I'm afraid that it will first of all, ruin my figure and smooth skin (lol, not like I have a figure...) and second that it will be hurting me for an average of 10 hours before the kid gets out xD But I wish you all luck once he/she finally arrives, so exciting! (:
